52nd Fighter Wing vice commander completes fini-flight

4/14/2010 - SPANGDAHLEM AIR BASE, Germany – Col. Anderson, 52nd Fighter Wing vice commander, taxis an A-10 Thunderbolt II under an arch of water provided by the 52nd Civil Engineer Squadron fire department after completing his final flight here April 8, 2010. Colonel Anderson accumulated more than 1,800 career flying hours. His next assignment is U.S. Senior National Representative, Air Component Command Headquarters, Ramstein Air Base, Germany. Colonel Kevin J. Anderson is the vice commander, 52d Fighter Wing, Spangdahlem Air Base, Germany. The 52d Fighter Wing maintains, deploys and employs F-16 and A-10 aircraft, TPS-75 radar systems and $2.5B of US Protection Level 1 assets in support of NATO and the National Command Authorities. The wing supports the Supreme Allied Commander Europe with mission-ready personnel and systems providing expeditionary air power for suppression of enemy air defenses, close air support, air interdiction, counterair, air strike control, strategic attack, combat search and rescue, and theater airspace control.

Colonel Anderson is a 1989 graduate of the United States Air Force Academy. Prior to his assignment to the 52d Fighter Wing, he attended Air War College as a mid-year student.
