81st Fighter Squadron A-10Cs caught at Namest during exercise Ramstein Rover 2012 - Part two

By Joachim Jacob, Warthog News Editor

I'm now in personal contact with Petr Silhavy (aka Pirony) from the Czech Republic who had the opportunity to take a lot of A-10C shots during RARO 12 at Namest Air Base. Here are some pictures, selected from his newest Flickr album Ramstein Rover 2012 II. All of them were taken on September 18, 2012.

Note: The wrong number 10656 on the canopy rail suggests A-10 81-0656, but such a "Hog" doesnt exist. In fact it's 82-0656.

Another "Hog Driver" portrait. Visible on the ejection seat is the number 1962, and so it should be A-10C 81-0962. (Photo by Petr Silhavy) Full size

Note: The inscription on the left air intake cover looks like 82-0656.

A-10C 81-0981 (marked 81 FS as the squadron's boss bird). Crew inscriptions: Lt Col Clinton Eichelberger [who is the 81st Fighter Squadron commander], SrA Joseph Aquilera, A1C Cody Cook. The aircraft's serial number is painted in Blue on the ejection seat. (Photo by Petr Silhavy) Full size
